Farewell to the Hintzs

Quite possibly the saddest thing our family has had to endure over the past few years besides leaving our family back in Ohio was saying goodbye to our very best friends here in Michigan. The Hintz's were here for Kadon's three year Emergency Medicine rotation.  They came a year before us, so we had two years with them before they headed back home to North Dakota.  I can't say much about our feelings regarding their departure because I'm still quite emotional about it, but I can say that we sure did make the most of these two years and have no regrets!  Michelle and I were sure to squeeze in as much fun as we could for the kids before they had to leave.  Here are some pictures from our final adventures:

Parker's birthday was at the Whitecaps game.  I actually took Caleb out of school.  His teacher didn't mind a bit since Caleb explained to the whole class that his best friend was moving to ND and would have a lake in his backyard so Caleb needs to pack his bathing suit when he visits.  Silly boy.
Best buds.
Silly Owen
We spent a lot of time scootering before they left.  Somehow this is the only picture I have of anyone.
On our Bucket List was a trip to Battle Creek (1 1/2 hrs away) to go to the Binder Park Zoo.  J chilling in the wagon.
This picture would be so cute if Caleb wasn't adjusting things.
Ew, yuck.

Taking a break
The spray fan may have been the highlight of Binder Park Zoo
It was a hot one.  I'm pretty sure that's sweat on Caleb's head.
Cashed out on the way back to Michelle's for PIZZA
O and Parker sleeping in our basement on Kadon's graduation night
Playing at the dads' last soccer game
We hit Oval Beach one last time
J's first trip to the beach.  She actually did enjoy it.
