Matt has been working Night Float which basically means he's gone each evening from 5pm-9am Sunday-Friday, but home Friday nights, all day Saturday, and the first half of Sunday. Though we've been warned about the brutality of this schedule, I'm actually prefering it because it allows the kids to see him a bit each day (he sleeps while they're in school and wakes up when their rest is over around 3). We also eat dinner early so we can actually enjoy a family dinner, which we usually only get to have about twice a week.
During these weekends with him home we are trying to squeeze in as much fun as we can. Today after church we headed to an apple orchard and pumpkin patch. It was colder than expected and the kids were very distracted by all of the "extras" that we didn't do much picking of apples or pumpkins, but we did get some cute fall pictures.
